Tigers Losing Second Offensive Lineman

A third string offensive lineman plans to transfer to another program.

Auburn, Ala.--William Sullivan, a redshirt freshman from Lillington, N.C., is planning to transfer to a college closer to home.

Auburn coaches say the third team offensive guard, is planning to finish classwork at AU this summer before leaving the university.

He would have entered spring training third team on the depth chart behind junior Tim Duckworth and sophomore Leon Hart.

Sullivan, who is 6-5, 298 pounds, spent last fall on the scout team after being a three-sport athlete at Western Harnett High.

Sullivan gained 20 pounds and grew an inch after arriving at Auburn. He improved during spring drills, but was not threatening to move up the depth chart at guard.

The lineman is considering a transfer to East Carolina, Western Carolina or Catawba. Jarrod Britt, a redshirt sophomore, reinjured a shoulder that needed surgery in 2004.

At the advice of doctors, Britt gave up football after suffering another injury to the same shoulder on the first day of contact drills in spring training. Britt is scheduled to be back in class at Auburn for fall semester as a medical hardship redshirt.
