Coventry Wins Another Medal

Montreal, Canada--Former Auburn University star Kirsty Coventry won a silver medal at the 2005 World Swimming Championships in the 200-meter individual medley on Monday.

The 2004-2005 SEC Athlete of the Year won the bronze medal in the same event at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece. At those games she also won a gold and silver medal.

Coventry swam a time of 2:11.13 to finish second to Katie Hoff of the U.S., who set a meet record in 2:10.41.

Coventry, who led the Tigers to the 2005 SEC title and three NCAA crowns, will next compete in the 100 backstroke.
