Scout TV Interview With Auburn Commitment

Mario Fannin kicked off the season in style on Thursday night as his Lovejoy Wildcats dispatched the Mt. Zion Bulldogs 45-18 in the season opener for both teams. In only one half of action, the Auburn commitment threw for a pair of touchdowns and ran for another while showing no ill effects from a shoulder injury that sidelined him part of last season.

Fannin will get his first shot as a running back on the Plains, and he gave us a glimpse of what Tiger fans can expect to see in his opening game

of 2005. Early in the first quarter he swept around the right end and made numerous guys miss before powering his way into the end zone to put the Wildcats on the board.

Later in the first half he delivered a pair of crushing blocks for his teammates that left two defenders on the turf and put one out for the remainder of the game with an ice pack on his forehead. His combination of speed and power would allow him to play any number of positions at the next level, but he should immediately add depth in the backfield for Tommy Tuberville's ball club next season.

After the game, Scout.com caught up with Mario for this video interview about his performance and what he's looking forward to down the road as a member of the reigning SEC Champions.
