Two TD Tre Credits Offensive Line

Running back Tre Smith had plenty of reasons to enjoy Auburn's victory at Arkansas.

Fayetteville, Ark.--Tre Smith said that there were no major offensive adjustments at halftime of Auburn's victory at Arkansas other than the decision to try to overpower the Razorback defense.

"We were mad at ourselves because we knew were so much better than they were," the junior tailback said. "We put the whole second half on the offensive line's shoulders and decided we were going to run it right at them every play.

Tre Smith runs for his second TD of the night vs. the Razorbacks.

We said you guys have got to hit them in the mouth and that is what happened. That second half was the best half I have seen them play in a long time," added Smith, who scored two touchdowns for the Tigers.

Smith's first score came with 1:24 left in the third quarter on a five-yard pass from Brandon Cox. His second was a seven-yard run at right end to complete the scoring in Auburn's 34-17 victory.

Smith played both tailback and fullback on a night when starting tailback Brad Lester went down early with a groin injury. Lester is expected to miss next week's game vs. LSU, but could be back in two weeks.

"I had a lot of fun out there," said Smith, who had been the first team tailback to start the season. "That first touchdown felt great. It was a little play we had designed for man coverage and that is what they had on the play. I did my little signature dive (head first) into the end zone."

Next up for the Tigers is a road trip to LSU. Kickoff is set for 6:45 p.m. next Saturday night in Baton Rouge, La.
