AU Up Next For Offensive Line Prospect

After his second of four scheduled official recruiting visits, this lineman discusses the team he checked out over the weekend.

Brentwood, Tenn.--Brentwood Academy offensive lineman Mike Berry, a rock on the line for Coach Carlton Flatt's 7-4 Eagles in 2005, took an official visit to Vanderbilt over the weekend.

"After the visit I was just very impressed," he said. "I got to hang out with the players, which was good. All around, I was just...impressed. I already knew about the school and the facilities, but the players...they were great."

It was the second official visit for Berry, who visited Kentucky last weekend. He is scheduled to visit Auburn next weekend.

Brentwood is just south of Nashville, and Berry had already visited Vanderbilt unofficially so not much was new this time around. Still, after this weekend, the Commodores may have raised their stock in Berry's estimation.

On Sunday morning he met with Vanderbilt head coach Bobby Johnson. Berry did not commit, saying he still wanted to take more visits.

"(Johnson) said they were probably going to take one more offensive lineman, and he wanted it to be me," Berry said. "But he said they're going to keep recruiting players until I commit somewhere."

In addition to his trip scheduled to Auburn on Friday, he plans to take an official visit to South Carolina on Jan. 13th. The lineman is non-committal as far as a timetable for a final decision.
