"It was a nine," Ricks says about his visit. "It went real good. I met with the players and we had a good time. I got to meet with the recruits and coaches and we had a real good time. It was real nice down here."
Ricks adds that he plans on announcing his college of choice at a press conference later in the week at Colbert County High.
"It's still going to be even until Friday," he says. "I'm going to be home looking at a couple of things from both teams. Friday I'm going to make my decision."
Ricks is a physical 6-4, 290-pounder with good quickness and pass rushing ability.
With defensive lineman Sen'Derrick Marks serving as host for the weekend, Ricks says that he had time for play as well as time to look at the academics at Auburn.
"I got to look at all of that," Ricks says of the academics. "We spent some time with that and they gave me a couple of papers. I'm going to go back home and look at them.
"We went to a couple of parties," he adds. "It was fun out there and we went to a club. It was fun just hanging around with them and acting crazy. It was real nice."
Ricks, whose brother is current Auburn linebacker Courtney Harden, brought several other family members with him on the trip to check out the program and what it's all about.
"I liked everything about it," he notes. "There wasn't anything I didn't like. They came with me and I think they had a good time, too."
Ricks has been down to the Tigers and Tide since earlier in the recruting process. We'll have a full update on his decision Friday.
