AU Commit Not Finished With Recruiting

This Auburn Commiitment says that he is looking at more than one team heading into signing day.

Tallahassee, Fla.—Kareem Crowell committed to Auburn back in September and said before and after his official visit to the Plains last weekend that his commitment to the Tigers was solid.

However, that does not appear to be the case as Crowell, now says he is still planning on entertaining the coaches from both Auburn and Louisville before making a final decision.

"I don't think I am going to take another visit, but I have got the coaches from Louisville coming down and the coaches from Auburn, and we are going to sit down with the family and discuss everything and go on and make the decision," he says. "The Louisville coaches are supposed to come in Wednesday and the Auburn coaches are supposed to come in Thursday."

"I talked to Coach (Boby) Petrino a couple of hours ago, and he said he and a couple of other coaches were coming down on Wednesday," he adds about which Cardinals' coaches will be visiting.

Crowell notes that having a former Godby teammate on the squad and a current teammate committed is part of the reason the Cardinals have stayed in the running.

"You know, our defensive tackle, Frank Grimes, he committed there and our cornerback, E.K. Sawyer, he committed there last season, and there are a lot of boys from Florida there," he notes. "I went for my official in December and when I went up there I felt at home up there."

Even though Crowell says that he is waiting on those in-home visits to make a final decision, the defender claims he is still committed to the Tigers.

"Yeah, I am still committed, but I am just going sit down and talk to the Louisville coaches and the Auburn coaches and we are going to make my decision from there," he notes.

The defender had planned to take an official visit to Clemson over the weekend, however, he says the Tigers had a change in plans.

"No, I didn't go to Clemson this weekend," he notes. "Coach Sweeny and Coach Bowden came down last week and they said they had a defensive tackle commit so they were through with recruiting. But, me and Coach Sweeney are still cool."

As for a time frame for Crowell's final decision, he says it could take him a couple of days after the in-home visits to sort things out. "I am saying by Monday or Tuesday I will have my final decision, before signing day."
