Defensive Star Says Five Still In The Mix

This top defensive line prospect talks about his upcoming visit to Michigan and when he plans to make his decision.

Louisville, Ken.--Standout defensive tackle Corey Peters says that the recruiting process has been a hectic one for him and that should come as no surprise with five schools still in the mix for his signature on signing day.

He says they're all going to have to wait until the last moment to know which one he chooses because he's keeping it a secret for another week.

"Pretty much my top five are all in the running," Peters tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "Louisville, Kentucky, Auburn, Ohio State and Michigan (are still in it). I think I'm going to wait until signing day to make my choice. I just have to sit down with my family and kind of break it down to see which one would be the better fit."

With a visit scheduled to Michigan this coming weekend and having already tripped to his other three favorites, Peters went to Columbus, Ohio last weekend to see coach Jim Tressell's Buckeye program up close and personal. He says the visit went well and he got a good feel for what life would be like at Ohio State.

"It went pretty well," Peters says of his visit to Ohio State. "I enjoyed myself. I just kind of ran around looking and it's a pretty big place. There are a lot of nice things there."

One of several defensive linemen still on Auburn's board, Peters took an official visit to see the Tigers two weekends ago. Having already been on the campus for the Alabama game in November, he says that a combination of factors have kept Auburn in the running until the last possible moment.

"It's a nice school," Peters says. "I enjoyed myself on my visit. I like the coaching staff. Me and coach (Don) Dunn have developed a pretty strong relationship. I like it."

A 6-3, 280-pounder with good quickness and strength at the point of attack, Peters says he plans to make his decision public at a press conference at Central High School on the morning of signing day.
