Hendrick Leverette Signs With AU

This talented defender signed with the Tigers.

Hattiesburg, Miss.--Auburn was only looking to add a couple of linebackers in the 2006 class and, Hendrick Leverette, who has signed his National Letter of Intent to play for Auburn is one of them.

Leverette racked up an amazing 355 tackles over the last two seasons, including 152 stops as a senior at Oak Grove High, which lost in the AAAAA state semi-finals to powerhouse Meridian High in 2005.

At 6-0 and 212 pounds, Leverette fits the mold of the typical linebacker that Auburn has recruited under Tommy Tuberville, being "undersized," but making up for the lack of size with excellent speed.

The defender committed to Auburn early in August and says he thoroughly enjoyed his visit to the Plains on Jan. 13.

Leverette selected the Tigers over in-state schools Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Southern Miss as well as Big East champs West Virginia.
