Jermarcus Ricks Signs With AU

One of Alabama's top linemen signed on the dotted line Wednesday at his high school.

Leighton, Ala.--One of the most intense recruiting battles of the season officially came to an end on Wednesday when Colbert County's Jermarcus Ricks inked with the Auburn Tigers at a ceremony at his high school.

A dominating defender for the Indians, Ricks will have the chance to play right away for the Tigers at defensive tackle next fall because of his combination of size and strength at the point of attack.

The brother of current Auburn linebacker Courtney Harden, Ricks narrowed his choices down to Auburn and Alabama early in the process before ultimately choosing the Tigers.

A 6-3, 300-pounder with good speed and quickness off the ball, Ricks was a standout at a summer camp on the Auburn campus in July.

He is a prospect who is expected to push for playing time as a true freshman with the Tigers looking for help on the defensive front.
