Zaccheus Etheridge

This talented defender has signed with the Tigers.

Troy, Ala.--Auburn was only looking to sign one defensive back in the class of 2006 and Charles Henderson standout Zaccheus Etheridge made it official on Wednesday that he was the Tigers' man when he signed his National Letter of Intent to play for Tommy Tuberville's team.

The 5-11, 175-pounder, who could play cornerback or safety on the college level, was a virtual unknown heading into the summer camps circuit, but put on a show at an Auburn camp and received an offer from the Tigers shortly thereafter.

Etheridge accepted the Tigers' offer and committed early in August. At one point in time the talented defensive back flirted with the idea of visiting Oklahoma State, but quickly put that idea to rest.

A great visit to the Plains in January solidified his commitment to the Tigers' program and he should gain plenty of weight and experience with a likely redshirt season in 2006.
