Sunday Baseball Game With FSU Cancelled

Auburn, Ala.--What was scheduled to be the third game of a three-game baseball series matching Auburn and FSU on Sunday afternoon has been cancelled.

The Tigers won the opener on Friday evening and lost game two on Saturday.

"Coach Martin (FSU's Mike Martin) and I have mutually agreed it is in the best interest of our players to not play in today's cold conditions," Auburn coach Tom Slater said. "We do not want to risk injury this early in the season with the low temperatures and a wind chill at the freezing mark."

The cold weather is not stopping the Auburn men's tennis team from playing. Coach Eric Shore's squad will play Oklahoma at 1 p.m. at the Luther Young Tennis Courts. Another Auburn team will play on Saturday at Jane B. Moore Field. The women's softball team will face Centenary at 2 p.m.

Auburn won the baseball opener vs. FSU 5-2 and fell 8-3 in game two.

The baseball Tigers are scheduled to play again at 4 p.m. on Friday vs. Hofstra at Plainsman Park.
