Tall Junior Wide Receiver High on Tigers

A report on a prospect for the 2007 signee class is featured.

Jackons, Ga.--At six-foot-six, wide receiver John Keye is one of the more intriguing prospects in the Peach State for the class of 2007. He's already drawing heavy attention from schools across the country but one school appears to have a pretty large early lead.

"Kentucky is probably the closest to offering me. Georgia, Auburn, FSU and Michigan are all recruiting me hard as well," John Keye said.

The Tigers of Auburn appear to have the inside track for Keye.

"I like Auburn and Georgia the most right now. Auburn is my favorite school."

What stands out about the Tigers?

"I went on a visit there and I fell in love with it at the Alabama game," he said. "I thought I got in good with the coaches. Coach Knox (AU receivers coach Greg Knox) is just a great coach. He welcomed me there and showed me around. I liked it a lot."

Keye's size is simply too much for most defenders at this stage.

"I use it to my advantage because in our region we have smaller corners so the fade is always the best route for me," he said. "As I go to the next level, I just need to stay in the weight room."

John is deceptively fast and seems to just glide across the field. "I just get open and get separation. I think I'm a big target for my quarterback. I think I need to work a little harder on my route running."

When might we expect a decision from the Jackson star?

"I think I'm going to wait until January or February, but if Auburn offers I may commit early," he said.
