Busy Spring For O-Line Prospect

This in-state offensive lineman talks about his early favorites and his plans to check out several this spring on unofficial visits.

Decatur, Ala.--Caleb Thomas had an impressive performance at U.S. Army All-American combine in San Antonio, Texas in January. Several schools are showing a lot of interest, and the Ole Miss Rebels have a strong connection to the 6-3, 290-pound offensive lineman.

"The schools sending me the most mail right now are Alabama, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Louisville, Duke and Mississippi State," said Caleb Thomas from Decatur, (Ala.). "I don't have any offers yet."

"I really like both Alabama and Auburn because they are in-state and close to home. I'll go anywhere though. I didn't really grow up favoring any school. My dad graduated from Ole Miss."

Thomas runs the 40-yard dash in San Antonio.

Thomas plans to attend summer camps at Alabama and Auburn, and he has scheduled visits to several SEC schools this spring.

"I am going to Alabama March 4, and Auburn March 11," he said. "I will attend Junior Days at LSU and Mississippi State as well."

Thomas boasts a 350-pound bench press, 505-pound squat and a 280-pound clean. His work ethic in the weight room pays huge dividends on the gridiron.

"I feel my biggest strength on the football field is that I play hard on every single play," he said. "I am very tenacious.

"I need to work on my forty-time before next season. I want to get quicker and stronger as well."

Thomas is definitely on track to qualify scoring a 19 on the ACT, and he maintains a 3.8 GPA.

Caleb Thomas will attend the Scout.com All-American Combine in Tuscaloosa April 29.
