Auburn Offers Talented 2007 Georgia Prospect

The link has an Auburn football recruiting report.

Rennie Curran is one of the top linebackers available in the Peach State this year and on Tuesday afternoon he picked up a huge offer from one SEC power.

"Auburn offered me," he said. "Coach (Greg) Knox sent me a text message at school and I called him back after school and that's when he offered me. He was just talking to me and then he busted out telling me had a scholarship offer for me."

Curran's initial reaction was one of surprise.

"I was just amazed," he added. "I know they have guys from Georgia like No. 1 linebacker Tray Blackmon and Brad Lester over there. They have a lot of good players."

The offer has vaulted the Tigers even higher up Curran's list.

"They were on the top of my list before and now they're real high up there," he said. "I've been there a couple times and I like environment and all that. The campus and the school itself is very nice."

Five other schools still remain in contention as well.

"Georgia is still up there even though I haven't heard from them much. Georgia Tech is up there because it's close to home. Miami, Alabama and FSU are also in there."

The Brookwood star plans a pair of unofficial visits for the next two weekends.

"I plan on being at Georgia Tech this weekend and then Auburn the next weekend."
