Prattville QB Frequent Visitor to Auburn

Larry Smith is one of the top quarterback prospects in the state for the class of 2007. Smith recorded over 2,000 yards and 18 touchdowns during his junior campaign and is hearing from schools across the Southeast. Smith was in Auburn Saturday and returned for Monday's practice.

"I visited Auburn twice this past week," said Larry Smith from Prattville, (Ala.). "I went there on Saturday for Junior Day, and I went back today. I really enjoyed myself during both visits."

"Today I spent a lot of time watching the quarterbacks. I watched all the different drills they took part in. It's something I am going to take back to Prattville with me."

Smith was impressed with Auburn and stated, "I really liked the intensity I saw out there. They practice like we do at Prattville. They even do the same schemes. I really enjoyed watching it."

"I toured the field house and the academic center on Saturday as well. The field house was real nice. I liked the indoor practice facility. I thought the academic center was real nice as well."

Smith wants to play quarterback on the next level, and he spent time with Auburn's head coach and the offensive coordinator while on the Plains.

"I met coach [Tommy] Tuberville and coach [Al] Borges," Smith said. "Coach Tuberville told me they were real interested me. He told me to keep thinking about Auburn. He seems like a laid back, cool guy. I could see myself playing for him."

"I really like coach Borges. He told me he liked me a lot. He wants me to come back to Auburn and watch film of his quarterbacks. He wants me to learn all the things they do."

When asked about his overall impressions of the Tigers Smith replied, "I like Auburn a lot. I am still open among my favorite, but I really like Auburn. I like the whole environment down there."

Smith will participate in the All-American Combine in Tuscaloosa April 29.
