Quarterback Brandon Cox from Hewitt-Trussville High will lead the offense in Saturday's game.
This week gives the Auburn signees a chance to get to know each other better. Here wide receiver Montae Pitts from Loachapoka talks to Cox during a break in practice. Pitts sprained an ankle earlier in the week but is expected to be ready for the opening kickoff Saturday night.
One of the weapons at Cox's disposal this week and in the future at Auburn is wide receiver Ben Obomanu. Here the Selma speedster works against Alabama signee Ramzee Robinson in one-on-one drills.
Perhaps the most dominant player this week in practice for Alabama has been Opelika defensive tackle Tommy (T.J.) Jackson. A brute in the middle with lightning quickness, Jackson should be a force for the Alabama team Saturday against a huge Mississippi offensive line.
Alabama's offensive line has a future Auburn Tiger as well. Prattville's Will Ward will see plenty of action at center on Saturday. After playing last season in the 250-pound range, Ward is now over 270 pounds with still plenty of room for growth.
Linebacker is a deep position for Auburn but one player who could get in the rotation quickly this fall is Benjamin Russell's Tyrone Martin. Nursing a sprained shoulder suffered this week, Martin is expected to be ready for Saturday's game.
Russellville's Kevin Sears has been wowing observers all week with his combination of size and speed at the safety position. Here he takes a break from team drills on Wednesday.
