AU Schemes Interest DL Prospect

A football recruiting report is featured on an in-state 2007 prospect.

Prattville, Ala.--Defensive tackle prospect Nick Gentry from Prattville High School says he is glad he spent a Saturday in Auburn visiting the campus and checking out Coach Tommy Tuberville's football program.

"The defensive line schemes are awesome and it looks like they have good defensive linemen," he says. "Their program is going really well. Auburn has a nice field and everything is just perfect.

"Besides Auburn, I am looking at a couple more colleges, but Auburn is one of the top ones right now," he adds. "I like the way they are real serious about the academics, too."

"I went to Alabama the previous week and I am real interested in them," the defensive lineman says. "They have got things going for them, too.

"Coach Mike Shula is doing some good things, too," he adds. "I have got a feeling he is going to bring that program a long way. I am going down to Florida State this week and check them out and see how they are doing."

In recent years, Prattville has turned out Division I prospects who have not picked Auburn. When asked if he is going to continue that trend, he says, "There is pressure on me to go to Alabama because there are a lot of Alabama players who I played with in high school, but really that doesn't matter. I am going to make my decision about college on where I feel comfortable and that is where I plan to go."
