Five Future Tigers To Play In All-Star Game

Montgomery, Ala.--Auburn will be well represented in the 19th annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Classic on June 3 as five future Tigers will be in action for the Alabama team that will look to avenge last year's 21-18 loss.

Wide receivers Tim Hawthorne of Homewood and Terrell Zachery of Wadley, defensive linemen Jermarcus Ricks of Colbert County and Michael Goggans of Benjamin Russell as well as defensive back Zaccheus Etheridge of Charles Henderson in Troy will all take part in the game that will take place at Ladd-Peebles Memorial Stadium in Mobile.

On offense Hawthorne and Zachery highlight a solid group of skill players for the Alabama team. Joining the duo will be quarterbacks D.J. Williams of Tuscaloosa County and Chris Smelley of American Christian School in Tuscaloosa. The running backs on the team are Lamarquis Foney of Davidson, Arnid Stallworth of Daphne and Chris Evans of Alexandria. Receivers Tebiarus Gill of Vigor, Rashaud Slaughter of Minor and Cornelius Williams of Hoover as well as tight end Preston Dial of UMS-Wright round out the unit for Coach Joey Jones' team.

Terrell Zachery finished his career as Alabama's all-time leading receiver in terms of yardage.

Up front the Alabama team is very strong as Antonio Colson from Davidson, March Melichar of Oak Mountain, Andre Smith of Huffman, Taylor Pharr from Shades Valley, David Ross from Homewood, Joseph Waller from Huntsville and Brian Motley from Autaugaville give the team a big and athletic front.

Michael Goggans

Defensively Goggans and Ricks are two of a group of smallish, but explosive defensive linemen for Alabama. Also on the team up front on defense are ends Jerrell Nobles from Mary Montgomery and Rodney Prince from Shades Valley along with Robert Gentry from Homewood, Deantwan Whitehead from West End and Jonathan Mitchell from LeFlore.

Jermarcus Ricks

Etheridge is one of a talented group of defensive backs that includes Captain Munnerlyn of Murphy, Max Lerner of Hoover, Jake Jones from Mountain Brook, Frantrell Forrest from Shaw and Andy Davis from Briarwood. The linebackers for the Alabama team are Calvin Nichols from Foley, Tim Rawlinson of Prattville, Charlie Higginbotham from Mountain Brook, Mike Tashman from Hoover and Ryan Powers from Tanner. The punter/kicker for the team is Patrick Dolan from McGill-Toolan.
