Mobile, Ala.--"I went to Auburn's A-Day last weekend," said Lionel Henderson from Mobile, (Ala.). "The visit was great. I really liked the players, crowd and the atmosphere. The coaches were real excited to see me there."
"I spoke to coach [James] Willis, the tight ends coach [Steve Ensminger], and I met with coach Tommy Tuberville. I thought all the coaches were all right. I liked them. They seemed very nice."
Henderson was happy to learn of the Tiger coaching staff contacting his school following his visit.
"My high school coach told me the Auburn coaches called and said how pumped they were to meet me," Henderson said. "They said they really enjoyed meeting me and Michael [McNeil]. I liked that."
The 6-4, 280-pound prospect grew up a fan of the Tigers, and if an offer is extended he may pull the trigger early in the recruiting process.
Henderson talks about his favorites.
Alabama : "I like the coaches. The team seems to get along great. The fans are supportive. Alabama is sending me the most mail. I have been receiving a lot of handwritten letters from them."
Auburn : "They are basically the same as Alabama, but I grew up as an Auburn fan. I have always liked the Tigers."
Florida : "I like the offense and the way they run the ball."
Ole Miss: "I like the coaching staff and the way the community supports the team. The players have a lot of camaraderie with each other."
Henderson plans to take an unofficial visit to Florida this weekend with teammate Michael McNeil.
The Davidson trio of Henderson, McNeil, and cornerback Travis Means will attend the Scout.com All-American Combine in Tuscaloosa April 29.
