Productive WR Prospect High on the Tigers

A football recruiting report is featured on Mississippi high school standout Ken Whigham.

Waynesboro, Miss.--Many people speculate that the deepest position for Divison I football prospects in the state of Mississippi may be receiver.

One name at the head of what appears to be a talented crop of wideouts is Wayne County's Ken Whigham.

Whigham was near the top in every receiving statistical category in Mississippi's competitive 4A classification. He recorded 52 catches for 1,014 yards and caught 13 touchdown passes. College scouts are already jockeying for position for Ken's signature.

"I am hearing from Mississippi State, the Florida Gators, USM (Southern Mississippi), the Houston Cougars, Auburn, Ole Miss and the University of Memphis. USM has offered."

So who has the early lead?

"Right now I am most interested in Auburn, Mississippi State and Florida. I would like to go out of state to play, but I wouldn't mind staying in state," said Whigham.

When Whigham gets ready to make his college decision he says that academic support and graduation rates will be things he considers.

Whigham is said to play with a high level of intensity and never seems to take a play off. What keeps him going? "I don't listen to any talk, rumors or any non-sense. I just go out there and show people what I can do."

The wide receiver is sure to have plenty of options on where to play college ball. Stay with Scout.com to see where the talented play maker's next offers come from.
