Tigers To Meet Fans On August 10th

Auburn, Ala.--The best chance for Auburn University football fans to meet the 2002 Tigers will be on Saturday at the annual Auburn Fan Day.

Members of Coach Tommy Tuberville's football team will be at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum from 1-3 p.m. to sign autographs and pose for photographs. There is no admission charge for the event, which attracts thousands of Tiger fans each year.

The Tigers will stop by Fan Day after practicing at 8:30 a.m. at the intramural fields. They are scheduled to practice again at 5:15 p.m. on the intramural fields on Saturday evening.

Other participants include Tuberville, Aubie, the AU cheerleaders and members of the volleyball and soccer teams. Tuberville will be located on the coliseum floor.

Linebacker Mark Brown meets a fan at the 2001 Fan Day. Brown will be a senior this season.

The event has been held inside Jordan-Hare Stadium and at the football complex practice fields in other years, but has moved inside in recent years to Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum to take advantage of the facility's air conditioning.

The first practice in full pads is Sunday for the football Tigers and the opening game is on Monday, Sept. 2nd in Los Angeles vs. the Southern Cal Trojans.
