Auburn, Ala.--The following photos were taken at Monday's offseason conditioning workouts. The football Tigers are doing running drills and lifting weights in preparation for the 2002 season that opens Sept. 2 at Southern Cal.

Mayo Sowell can play all three linebacker positions. The redshirt sophomore was instrumental in Auburn's victory over Florida last year.

Incoming freshman wide receiver Lee Guess caught 93 passes for 1,341 yards and 12 touchdowns as a high school senior. He was the favorite target of another incoming AU freshman, quarterback Brandon Cox. Also as a senior, Guess returned 27 kickoffs for an average of 30 yards per return with one going for a TD. He intercepted one pass and blocked three field goal attempts for Hewitt-Trussville High School.

Junior Rosegreen will start two-a-days as the number one strong safety following a strong performance in the spring. Rosegreen played cornerback last season. He is a 6-0, 187 redshirt sophomore from Dillard High in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Incoming freshmen defensive ends Kyle Derozan (left) and Ben Grubbs (right) take a break during a conditioning workout at the football complex. In the background are a pair of freshmen wide receivers--Montae Pitts (back left) from Loachapoka and Courtney Taylor from Carrollton.
