Montgomery Prospect Receives SEC Offer

This current high school junior discusses his recruiting interests.

Montgomery, Ala.--Carver High's Chris Relf has picked up his first scholarship offer, and he talks favorites.

"I received my first offer about two weeks ago from Mississippi State," Relf said. "I was happy to receive the offer. I think they have a good team.

"The offer came to my high school. I have not spoken to any of their coaches yet."

The 6-4, 211-pound signal caller is hearing from Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Illinois, Oregon and Tennessee as well. He lists his favorites as Alabama, Auburn and Mississippi State.

Alabama: "I like the campus, and I like their offense. I like to watch them on TV. I have been to Alabama with my brother [Eric] on a visit. He signed with Alcorn State this year."

Auburn: "My uncle went there. He was a wrestler. I like the campus. I always went with my brother when he visited there."

Mississippi State: "I haven't visited, but I like the interest they have shown by offering me a scholarship."

Relf passed for over 1,500 yards in a Wing-T offense during his junior year and is looking forward to a more productive senior year in a spread offense.

When asked his strengths Relf replied, "My strengths are my arm strength and my height. I can see everything. I see the field real well. I can run when I need to. Running two offensive styles during my high school career will help. I'm also a team leader.

Relf has great parental support and added about his decision, "My parents will help me with my decision. They will want me to go somewhere with good academics."
