Tuberville to Visit In-State Prospect

A recruiting report is featured on a talented prospect from Mobile.

Mobile, Ala.--B.C. Rain cornerback Ryan Williams has been one of the state's top defensive backs in the eyes of since his performance in the U.S. Army National Combine in January. He has been patiently waiting for scholarship offers, and he received two offers over the weekend.

"I received offers from LSU and Kentucky," said Williams. "My mom called me when I was on the way to Birmingham. She told I had two big packages at the house. I found out they were written offers from LSU and Kentucky."

"I was real excited about receiving those offers. I am not real concerned about the number of offers I have right now. I have my whole senior season. I'm still wide open."

Williams was a top performer at the U.S. Army Combine, and he didn't disappoint at Mountain Brook this past weekend.

"The first time I ran the 40 (yard dash) up there, I ran a 4.40," he said. "I took off my ankle braces, and then I ran a 4.37.

"I dominated the one-on-one drills. I had one receiver from Prattville call me out. I knocked him down to the ground when he came off the line, and then I knocked the pass down." "Christian [Smith] and I talked for a while. We didn't go up against each other. We are waiting for the combine this weekend."

There has been a lot of talk over the past few weeks from several of the top athletes in the state as they prepare to showcase their skills at the All-American Combine in Tuscaloosa April 29.

The stud defensive backs from B.C. Rain in Williams and Elliott McGaskin are ready to take on the state's top receivers Smith and UMS-Wright star Brandon Gibson.

"It's on this weekend," Williams said. "Elliott and I are crunk. We have been waiting on this for a long time. We are going to come out there and dominate everybody."

B.C. Rain will receive a visit from Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville Tuesday. Alabama head coach Mike Shula and LSU head coach Les Miles plan to visit the second week in May.
