Recruiting Picking Up For Wayne Co. Star

This standout receiver talks recruiting and names two favorites.

Waynesboro, Miss.--Marquese Ray of Wayne County High School in Waynesboro, Mississippi is part of one of the most potent pass catching tandems in the State. One would be hard pressed to find a pair of receving bookends more acrobatic than Ray and Ken Whigham. Due to his high flying abilities, Marquese has seen his college recruitment pick up speed in the past few weeks.

"No one has "really" offered yet. They haven't just come out and said it. I got calls this week from Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Auburn, Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech," said Ray. "A lot of them keep saying that they think I will fit in real well at their school. I think Ole Miss and Auburn are close (to offering). They are about neck and neck. Ole Miss and Southern Miss have both been to see me practice this spring."

With the increased attention and possible offers on the way from Auburn and Ole Miss, it appears those two schools have taken the lead.

"I would say right now that Auburn and Ole Miss are the top two. LSU has been writing me a lot too. I wouldn't mind going there either.

Will Auburn or Ole Miss come through with Ray's first offer? Could that lead to an early commitment? Stay with Scout.com to find out.
