Big Tight End Likes Tigers

This big tight end talks recruiting and why Auburn is one of his favorites heading into the summer.

Boca Raton, Fla.--Mike McGowan didn't put up huge numbers as a junior last season but the West Boca Raton product certainly has the tools to do big things as a senior. He finished last season with six catches for 84 yards.

"I'll probably be utilized more in the passing game as a senior," McGowan said. "I was doing a lot of blocking for the running game last season. Plus, we had a new quarterback who was just settling in."

McGowan, 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, has plenty of ability. A three-sport star, McGowan is already getting recruiting interest.

"Auburn's the most interested in me right now," he said. "They haven't offered yet but they've been by and they called me. UCF also called but there's something about Auburn that I really like. They seem to run a good program there and I'm interested in learning more about them."

The talented tight end is getting interest from some others and produced an early top five.

"Right now, I'd say it's Auburn, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Central Florida, and South Florida," he said.

McGowan plans on attending Saturday's All-American Combine at FAU.
