Photos of Auburn's preseason football practices are featured.

Quarterback Brandon Cox throws a pass during warm-ups. Cox is more physical this season and is throwing the ball with more velocity.

Cornerback Patrick Lee is playing his best football since coming to Auburn and will play a great deal as David Irons' backup.

Tre Smith tries to rip loose a slick covered football away from Carl Stewart during a ball security drill.

Rodgeriqus Smith hauls in a pass. Smith has been solid during two-a-days and should see more playing time this season.

True freshman Tim Hawthorne should also see playing time early and often for the Tigers.

Newcomer Greg Smith enrolled in classes on Wednesday and was at practice for the first time on Thursday morning. The junior college transfer will play noseguard for the Tigers. Smith is 6-1 1/4, 345 pounds.

Coach Tommy Tuberville chats with Bret Eddins during a recent practice. Eddins is now working in Montgomery and was in the Auburn area for a charity golf tournament.

A shot of the fencing being put up on the end of the practice fields adjacent to Samford Avenue. The fencing will be similar to that at Plainsman Park and the new fencing at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
