Auburn, Ala.--Scenes from Auburn's football practices are featured.

Gabe McKenzie is a player the Tigers are counting on to see prime-time action as a redshirt freshman tight end.

Defensive line coach Don Dunn studies the practice plan. He is expected to put new starters in the game at both noseguard (Josh Thompson) and tackle (Pat Sims) this season.

Junior Pete Compton, the projected starter, works on his punt snapping. He snaps the football to Robert Shiver, who is expected to handle field goal snaps.

Freshman offensive lineman Mike Berry takes a break during the heat of practice. Berry has worked at center, guard and tackle this preseason.

Tommy Trott, a redshirt freshman tight end, will be a backup to senior Cole Bennett this season.

Defensive ends Marquies Gunn (48) and Christopher Browder are being counted on to be key players for the Auburn defense.

Greg Smith (right) is expected to provide depth at noseguard this season behind junior Josh Thompson (97), who is scheduled to be the starter.

True freshman Mario Fannin, who was moved from tailback to wide receiver last week, could see action on opening night on special teams.

A construction crew works on the new message board that is going on the east facade of the upper deck at Jordan-Hare Stadium. It will match another one on the east side of the stadium.

New for the 2006, there will be two signs inside the stadium that light up to signify that the field was named in honor of former AU coach Pat Dye, who was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame last year. The field was dedicated in his honor last season during Auburn's victory over Alabama.

The renovation project at Auburn's home football field includes two lighted Jordan-Hare Stadium signs. This one is on the southwest side of the stadium.
