Four The Number For Football Tigers

Hoover, Ala.--Four Auburn players were selected to preseason all-conference teams at the annual SEC Media Days and the Tigers are picked to finish fourth in their division.

Senior All-American Damon Duval was selected as the first team field goal kicker and the second team All-SEC punter.

Junior linebacker Dontarrious Thomas, the leading tackler on the 2002 team, was a first team selection. He earned All-SEC honors last fall.

Junior defensive lineman DeMarco McNeil and sophomore tailback Carnell Williams were named to the second teams. McNeil was a freshman All-American in 2000, but was limited by a knee injury last fall. Williams is also coming off a shoulder injury that caused him to miss the final two games of the 2001 season in which he was a Freshman All-SEC pick. Both are expected to be full speed for the 2002 opener vs. Southern Cal.

Carnell "Cadillac" Williams is expected to be a key player for the 2002 Tigers.

Preseason practice for the Tigers begins on Monday with freshmen only workouts. Auburn is expecting 25 freshmen to report on Sunday. The returning players report on Wednesday and begin full squad two-a-days the following day.
