The Auburn Tigers opened fall practice on Monday. Inside are photos from the afternoon session.

Defensive tackle Antwarn Franklin (62) and Ben Grubbs (90) work on staying low by hitting the two-man sled with Coach Don Dunn looking on.

Defensive end Kyle Derozan was impressive in the afternoon session working against Troy Reddick. He showed good explosion coming off the end in pass rushing drills.

Wide receiver Anthony Mix hauls in a pass during the practice. Mix, easily the largest wide receiver on the Plains since Lawyer Tillman, is working hard to stay at the position and not get moved to defensive end.

Ben Obomanu has been the most impressive receiver after one day of practices on the Auburn campus. The Selma native has shown good speed and solid hands.

Linebacker Mike Sherill stands in on the defense while coach Joe Whitt walks to talk to another member of the defense. Sherill has shown a good eye for the ball in pass coverage from his middle linebacker spot.

A former high school quarterback at Opelika, Will Herring has adapted quickly to playing safety at Auburn. Monday afternoon he was calling the secondary signals in the huddle.
