Scheduled to participate in the home run derby are Auburn women's basketball coach Nell Fortner, Auburn head swimming and diving coach David Marsh, Auburn assistant golf coach Ryan Cabbage, media personalities Rod Bramblett and Andy Burcham of the Auburn Network, former AU football players Cole Cubelic and Kurt Crain, Mix 96.7 FM radio's Tige Rodgers, Kicker 97.7's Jason Connally, Inside the Auburn Tigers' Jason Caldwell and Bill Cameron of SportsCall.
The event sponsors will donate money based on a points system during the home run derby in which each celebrity will be paired with a current Tiger baseball player. A ball hit to the outfield will raise $1, a ball on the warning track $3, off the wall is $5 and a home run is $10. Last season the event raised $2,778 as Josh Donaldson and Auburn Mayor Pro Tem Ted Wilson won the home run contest with nine home runs.
Gates open at 5 p.m. and admission is a $1 donation at the gate. Additional donations are welcome and for every dollar a fan donates they will have an equal amount of chances to win an Auburn Baseball Under Armour Prize Pack.
The event is sponsored by the Auburn Diamond Club, Country's Barbecue and Century 21/Paramount Real Estate.
