"We are very excited about the opportunity of traveling to Dallas for the AT&T Cotton Bowl," said Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville. "It has been a tremendous season and what better way to cap it off than to be playing a very good Nebraska team in one of the original four bowl games. I look forward to a sea of orange in Dallas on January 1."
Bowl tickets may be ordered by phone, 1-800-AUB-1957, ext. 1, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. CT or on-line at www.auburntigers.com. Tickets are $90 each. Ticket orders received prior to Thursday, Dec. 7 will be filled based on Tigers Unlimited priority.
"Auburn has tremendous fan support and they play a big role in the success of our football team," Auburn Athletics Director Jay Jacobs said. "Dallas is a great city and the Cotton Bowl hosts a first-class experience for the fans and participating teams. I look forward to Auburn fans helping fill the Cotton Bowl on New Year's Day and cheering on the Tigers."
Auburn will make its seventh consecutive bowl appearance under Tuberville and third straight appearance in a New Year's Day bowl game.
Auburn's only Cotton Bowl appearance was a 36-16 loss to Texas A&M in the 1986 Cotton Bowl.
Auburn is 0-3 all-time against Nebraska, having faced the Cornhuskers last in 1982. The Cornhuskers defeated the Tigers, 13-7, in the 1964 Orange Bowl, 17-3 in 1981 (at Lincoln) and 41-7 in 1982 (at Auburn).
The Tigers will begin bowl practice on Dec. 14.
