Big Man Says Tigers On Top After Visit

This standout from South Alabama talks about his official visit to Auburn.

Mobile, Ala.--One of Alabama's top big athletes visited Auburn over the weekend and says following his visit the Tigers are at the top of his list. Athletic Nick Fairley from Williamson High in Mobile is a player that can play a number of different positions on the college level and right now he says that Auburn is the team to beat.

"The visit went pretty good," Fairley tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "It was really nice hospitality. I would rate the visit a ‘9' out of 10. Auburn is at the top right now."

Hosted by fellow Williamson standout Antonio Coleman, Fairley says the weekend was filled with good times as Mobile guys such as Sen'Derrick Marks and Gabe McKenzie made the weekend feel like old home week.

"It was pretty good seeing (Coleman) him because I know him from back home and played football with him," Fairley says. "He just told me everything I need to know about Auburn. We also hung out with Sen'Derrick and Gabe and Q (Quentin Groves). They just told me how they work together and are one big family."

Big and athletic, Fairley is listed as an offensive guard by Scout but is likely a tight end or defensive end on the next level.

Saying the highlight of the weekend visit was a trip to Jordan-Hare Stadium and a tour of the locker room and facilities, Fairley says that after the weekend his next two visits to Southern Miss and Alabama tell the tale for him before signing day.

A standout for the top-ranked Williamson basketball team, Fairley will take part in perhaps the game of the year in Alabama prep basketball on Monday when Williamson takes on Class 6A number one Leflore at the Mitchell Center on the South Alabama campus. Fairley says he's looking forward to seeing how the Lions match up with one of the country's best teams.
