Fans Can Have Their Say About Gamedays

Auburn, Ala.--Auburn football fans who want input on the gameday experience can have their say at a fan forum on Tuesday evening at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Scheduled for 5:30-7 p.m. at the Letterman's Lounge on the east side of the stadium, members of the university's Gameday Committee will be there to listen to suggestions.

In recent seasons, university officials have made significant changes in tailgating rules for AU football games. To say that the changes have met with mixed reactions from fans would be an understatement.

Committee chairman Baker Melson said previous forums have resulted in changes. "They have asked for more trash and recycling receptacles, and we've provided them," he said. "We've also added to our number of available restrooms. Our transit system is better. The information we gain at this forum will further improve the experience next fall and in the years to come."

Fans wanting to attend the forum can park in the new parking deck located between the stadium student entrance and Plainsman Park.

"We are always looking for ways to improve the game day experience for our fans," said Tim Jackson, who is Auburn's Executive Associate Athletics Director. "We held a similar forum before a basketball game last year and turnout was excellent. Our fans have been great at helping us fine-tune our strategy for Saturdays in the fall."

The Auburn basketball team will play Alabama at 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum.
