LaFayette, La.--The Louisiana 5A Defensive Player of the Year for the 2006 football season, Wilfred Journet of 5A state champion Acadiana High School, is expected to be on the Auburn campus for an official visit this weekend.

Journet was defensive MVP of the state championship game as a junior when his team lost to the West Monroe High team featuring current Auburn quarterback Steven Ensminger during the 2005 season,

The defensive end scored on two blocked punts during his senior season. In the playoffs he scored on a sack/fumble recovery from 52 yards out.

In the state playoff semi-finals vs. Catholic High of Baton Rouge, his interception at the three-yard line helped his team advance to the championship game where Acadiana took a 13-10 victory over Sulphur.

A three-sport athlete who also competes in basketball plus track and field, he is the only scheduled official visitor for Auburn this weekend.
