Davis and Johnson Thrilled to Sign with AU

Enrique Davis talks about signing day at Mosley High School.

Lynn Haven, Fla.--It was a special day at Mosley High School for a pair a future Tigers. Everybody who follows recruiting knew about four-star tailback Enrique Davis, a long-time Auburn commitment. Some Tiger fans were worried that he may waiver and sign with Florida State, where he recently took an official visit. However, Davis signed with the Tigers and so did linebacker Carlton Johnson, a surprise signee to Auburn's 2007 football class.

"He's a great linebacker and everybody guessed he was going to Florida State, Florida or N.C. State," Davis explains. "Nobody even knew he was going to Auburn and he signed with Auburn today.

"I'm very excited," he adds. "It's a great opportunity and experience for that to happen. We're all really happy with everything that happened. He's going to be a great linebacker at Auburn."

For Davis, who had offers from virtually every school in the Southeast, it was a time of celebration and relief that it's finally over.

"It's a great opportunity and I'm just happy to have it," he explains. "There was nothing like it when I went up there to signed. I'm just so happy about it.

"My whole family was up there and we had a great time. All of the coaches were there. The cafeteria was packed and there were hundreds of people--probably over 300 people there at the signings. It was crazy and we took 200 or 300 pictures. It was outrageous with all of the pictures out there and then Carlton Johnson committed. He signed with us and it was amazing."
