Sophomore Cesar Cielo, who set NCAA records in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle and was a key factor in Auburn's relay team successes, was named NCAA Swimmer of the Year.

With the divers helping the Tigers easily outscore runnerup Stanford 566-397, Auburn's Jeff Shaffer was named NCAA Men's Diving Coach of the Year.
Steve Segerlin, who defended his men's 10-meter platform national title on Saturday night, was named NCAA Men's Diver of the Year following his final collegiate meet.
Marsh's 12 NCAA titles as a coach ties the record set by Richard Quick, the former Auburn coach who will return to AU to take over the Auburn men's and women's teams next season while Marsh takes a post coaching elite competitors for USA Swimming to prepare them for international competition.
The NCAA champion men's and women's swimming and diving teams will be honored with a celebration at Toomer's Corner at 6 p.m. AU officials announced that fans are encouraged to join the teams as they celebrates their titles with the traditional rolling of Toomer's Corner. The men's and women's swimming and diving teams and coaching staff will be on hand, as will the Auburn pep band, cheerleaders, Tiger Paws and Aubie.
