An Auburn University basketball recruiting report is featured.

Simi Valley, Calif.--Auburn's search for a large post presence continues with Jeff Lebo's Tigers scheduled to play host to a seven-foot-one-inch center from a California prep school.

Boubacar Sylla, who is scheduled to sign in the spring period, is expected to be in Auburn on Thursday and Friday to check out the AU program. Lebo's Tigers have one scholarship slot available for the 2007-2008 squad after signing 6-8 forward Tyrell Lynch in November.

A native of Paris, France, Sylla transferred to Stoneridge Prep in California along with a group of players from Florida Preparatory Academy. A player still in the developmental stages, the 255-pounder averages 2.4 points and 2.8 rebounds.

Scout.com ranks him as a three star prospect and rates him the No. 27 center prospect in this season's signee class. He is being recruited by Southern Cal, LSU, St. John's, San Diego State and Fresno State. Auburn will be his first official visit.

Boubacar Sylla

Scout.com basketball recruiting anlayst Dave Telep says, "Sylla is a space-eater in the paint and you can't find size like that in the spring period. "

Telep notes that Sylla should have the strength to hold his own inside in the power-oriented Southeastern Conference, but will need a lot of work on his all-around offensive game to be able an effective collegiate scorer.
