The new outdoor pool for the Auburn men's and women's swimming teams is located on the site of the former Luther Young Tennis Courts. Both Auburn swimming and diving teams defended their national championships earlier this month with impressive victories in Minneapolis.
Auburn University president Dr. Richardson said the new outdoor pool is being built to give a recruiting advantage to what he calls a "model program" for the university with its competitive success as well as the success swimmers and divers have had in a wide range of university academic and leadership roles.
