Auburn, Ala.--It took some time but on Tuesday the Auburn Tigers released their post-spring depth chart and it featured several surprises among the two-deep listed heading into the summer.
The most surprising listing is for Sen'Derrick Marks. Auburn's starter last season at tackle, Marks is being moved to the strongside defensive end position heading into the fall.
Another surprise is in the secondary where returning senior starters Jonathan Wilhite and Eric Brock must fight off a pair of talented youngsters in Jerraud Powers and Zac Etheridge during two-a-days if they hope to start the season with the first team.
Etheridge had a very productive spring and finished out playing with the first unit in Auburn's final scrimmage. Powers, out of contact after having shoulder surgery, was one of Auburn's most valuable defensive backs last fall and should see significant action even if he doesn't win the starting job.
"It was a real good spring for us," Coach Tommy Tuberville says. "This was a spring where there was a lot of teaching going on. Our coaches had their hands full. We have got a lot of talent on the team, but we have a lot of young players who have a lot to learn. We needed a good spring and I thought we had one.
Sen'Derrick Marks is athletic enough to be the big defensive end the Tigers have been looking for in the last few years.
The following is the full two-deep depth chart following spring practice:
