Prowell, Barrett's Team Suffers First Loss

A report on two Auburn basketball players is featured.

Shanxi, China--Auburn rising senior Quan Prowell was the leading scorer and winner of the pre-game slam dunk contest, but his touring collegiate basketball team lost its first game in five outings on Wednesday.

Reach USA dropped a 79-76 decision to Zhe Jiang, the fourth place team in the CBA (Chinese Basketball Association).

Prowell scored 16 points as he hit 7-12 field goals to go with seven rebounds and there assists.

Another Auburn player on the team, rising junior guard Rasheem Barrett, finished with six points and eight rebounds. He was 3-11 from the field.

Reach USA overcame an 11-point first half deficit to lead by 10 points in the fourth quarter before the home team rallied for the victory. The two teams will play three more games before the Americans return home.
