More Medals For Auburn Swimmers

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil --Auburn swimmers won two more gold medals on Friday at the Pan Am Games.

Ava Ohlgren got things going early, winning her second gold medal of the games with a victory in the 200 meter freestyle. The Northville, Mich., native finished the event in 2:00.03 for the win.

Cesar Cielo, swimming for the host country, won his second gold medal as he swam anchor on the winning 400-meter freestyle relay team. Brazil finished the event in 3:15.90, a Pan Am Games record, with Cielo swimming the fastest leg among all swimmers – completing his 100 meters in 48.18.

AU's Emily Kukors (Auburn, Wash.) took the lead among Auburn swimmers with her third medal of the Games, earning silver in the 200m IM with a time of 2:13.88. Kukors finished less than a second behind Team USA teammate Julia Smit.
