25 Signees, Walk-ons Report for Practice

A report on Auburn's football newcomers is featured.

Auburn, Ala.--Auburn's football coaches will have 18 new scholarship freshmen and seven freshmen invited walk-ons when practice begins on Thursday morning.

Another 2007 scholarship freshman, tight end Brent Slusher, graduated early from high school and has been at Auburn since January.

The invited walk-on group includes:

*Linebacker Wade Christopher 6-1, 200, Vestavia Hills High

*Defensive Back Jeremy Flowers, 5-10, 185, Gadsden City High

*Offensive lineman Howard Guth, 6-2, 240, St. Paul's, Mobile

*Offensive lineman Brantley Poe, 6-5, 310, George Jenkins High, Lakeland, Fla.

*Zack Shaw, 6-2, 195, WR, Trinity Presbyterian, Montgomery

*Kicker Graham Sutter 5-9, 150, St. James School, Montgomery

*Punter Patrick Tatum, 6-2, 205, Sylvania High

Offensive tackle Lee Ziemba from Rogers, Ark., is one of the 2007 signees who has been on campus since June.

Players who signed scholarship papers in February who reported on Wednesday for team meetings include S Michael McNeil, CB Michael Slade, LB Josh Bynes, K Wesley Byrum, QB Kodi Burns, CB Ryan Williams, FB John Douglas, LB Bo Harris, DE Antoine Carter, LB Adam Herring, TE Bailey Woods, C Ryan Pugh, OG Kyle Coulahan, OT Lee Ziemba, OG Chaz Ramsey, OT Jared Cooper, WR Quindarius Carr and DE A.J. Greene.

Auburn is still awaiting word on whether WR Chris Slaughter and defensive end Nick Fairley will be academic qualifiers.
