DE Prospect Close to Making His Decision

An in-state football prospect checked out the Tigers on Saturday.

Birmingham, Ala.--Will a Shades Valley High School defensive end become Auburn's seventh verbal commitment for the 2008 football signee class.?

On Saturday, 6-6, 220-pound Cameron Henderson watched the Tigers practice for more than two hours. He says he will be ready to announce his decision on Sunday.

"I watched a bunch of individual drills and the teamwork drills," says Henderson, who recently received an offer from Auburn to go with earlier offers from Arkansas and Mississippi State

The athlete, who also plays power forward on the Shades Valley High basketball team, notes that he doesn't have a lof of football experience. "I played my sophomore year when I was just getting started and then I started last season," he says.

"My pass rush is probably the best part of my game now," he says. "I am working at improving my defense against the run."

Commenting on his three finalists, Henderson says, "With Mississippi State, I like the coaches down there. The same thing is true with both Arkansas and Auburn. Watching Auburn the past two years, I really like watching them play."
