AU Sunday Football Practice Notes

News and notes from Auburn's fourth football practice day are featured.

Quarterback Neil Caudle (19) is shown running the offense in Sunday evening's practice.

*Senior Prechae Rodriguez had a beautiful catch in practice and his position coach, Greg Knox, was so excited that he jumped up in the air and did a chest bump with Prechae.

*Leon Hart stayed after practice and worked on his snaps with Brandon Cox. The senior guard, who is a part-time center, is getting extra work at center with Junior Jason Bosley out of contact work with an injury.

*Cornerback Patrick Lee had an excellent day in pass coverage on Sunday.

*The intensity level was high with several scuffles in the 11 on 11 work. The cooler than normal weather probably helped give players more energy.

*Brandon Cox had a good throwing the ball for his second day at practice. After the session the senior, who missed practice time with flu-like symptoms, said he felt really good.

*In addition to Oscar Gonzalez getting some work at right tackle (Brandon Cox's blindside), No. 1 left tackle King Dunlap worked there some at Sunday's practice.

*The six kickoff returners generally handled the kicks well today that were shot their way out of a ball machine. Mario Fannin misjudged one after being flawless in his punt return work at the last practice. James Swinton also dropped one, but Pat Lee Ben Tate, Brad Lester and Tristan Davis caught the ball well.

*Walk-on guard Nathan Farrow, a 6-3, 299-pounder, looked good in several of the drills today. The junior is running with the twos at right guard.

*Quindarius Carr, the freshman wideout, had another good day catching the football.

*There is nothing bashful about Kodi Burns on the football field. He has a booming voice when he calls signals and he is aggressive when he gets his reps at QB.

*Tristan Davis looks very quick at tailback. He has shown the ability to get on the corner very quickly. With Brad Lester getting an overload of carries at Saturday morning's split squad practice, Davis got some of his reps on Sunday.

*Redshirt freshman defensive tackle Zach Clayton had a good Sunday evening practice. He made the move from end at the end of spring drills.

*Freshman linebacker Bo Harris got a look rushing the passer at end and did well. Harris played defensive end last fall in prep school.

*Sophomore linebacker Tray Blackmon and senior safety Eric Brock, who had an interception in the team drills, had multiple big hits on Sunday evening.

*The Tigers will put on the full pads for the first time on Monday morning and will just have one workout that day.
