AU Signee Falls Short

An Auburn University men's basketball report is featured.

Niagara Falls, N.Y.--Power forward Tyrell Lynch, who signed to play basketball for Coach Jeff Lebo's Tigers, did not qualify academically to enroll at Auburn.

The 6-9, 220-pounder signed with Auburn last November. He attended two North Carolina prep schools in the last year, Laurinburg Prep and The Patterson School, but did not qualify.

He averaged 16 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots per game at Laurinburg.

Lynch played his high school basketball at Niagara Falls High where he was a three-year letterman. He averaged 18 points and 13 rebounds as a senior.

Auburn's other signee, 7-1 center Boubacar Sylla, is enrolled at AU.
