Prep Star Picks Lebo's Tigers

Coach Jeff Lebo's Auburn basketball Tigers got some good news on Sunday.

Uniontown, Ala.--Coach Jeff Lebo's Tigers picked up their first verbal commitment for the 2008 basketball signee class from R.C. Hatch star Frank Sullivan.

The 6-2, 185 combo guard took an official visit to Auburn over the weekend.

"Frank had a wonderful visit to Auburn and verbally committed," his mother tells Inside the Auburn Tigers.

Sullivan led Hatch to the state title this past season. He had offers from colleges around the country. He narrowed his list of colleges to four--Auburn, Tennessee, UAB and Mississippi State. He then narrowed it to three before picking the Tigers over the Vols and UAB.

R.C. Hatch high school coach Homer Davis has a very high opinion of the senior guard, who he notes is a strong student, too. "He is a great kid on and off the court," Davis said. "He is a coach's dream."

A standout for R.C. Hatch since he was an eighth grader when he hit key shots in the state championship game to lead his team to a state title, Sullivan averaged 18 points and seven rebounds per game as a junior. Sullivan scored 33 in the state championship game vs. Barbour County.

Lebo also picked up a commitment over the weekend from class of 2009 prospect Robert Chubb, a six-foot-nine forward from McIntosh High School in Peachtree City, Ga., who will be a junior this season.
