Auburn-Florida Game Notes, Part 1

A report from Gainesville features Auburn's 20-17 football victory over the Florida Gators.

Gainesville, Fla.--News and notes from Auburn's 20-17 SEC football victory over Florida are featured.

*Wes Byrum said he saw that the official had called a timeout right after his first kick and said he figured he would have to make it again. Byrum said his second one didn't go as far, but was closer to being right down the middle.

*Junior tailback Tristan Davis may have broken a bone in his same foot and looks like he will be out for a while, Tommy Tuberville said after the victory.

*Quentin Groves suffered three dislocated toes and will be out for a while also, Tuberville said.

*Auburn players said after the game that a tough, physical week of practice and a hard-nosed attitude helped them win the game.

*Sen'Derrick Marks said after watching film of the Gators, he figured Auburn would beat Florida if the Tigers played their A game.

*Offensive coordinator Al Borges said he was thrilled with the wide receivers having their best game of the year and with Brandon Cox playing like a poised senior. Tuberville noted that he did not see a dropped pass and lots of yards after contact for the Auburn receivers. Holding on to passes thrown by Brandon Cox and Kodi Burns had been an issue for the Tigers in their first four games.

*Cornerback Jerraud Powers led the Tigers in tackles with seven while safety Zac Etheridge had six and Aairon Savage added five solo stops.
