Encouraging News on Groves, Tuberville Says

An injury update on Tristan Davis and Quentin Groves is featured.

Auburn, Ala.--Tommy Tuberville said on Monday that the news is good on All-SEC defensive end Quentin Groves and there is hope that Tristan Davis can return this season.

Groves dislocated three toes in the second half of Auburn's 20-17 victory over previously unbeaten Florida in Gainesville. Tuberville said that doctors did more tests on Groves on Monday and found there are no broken bones in his foot.

The Auburn coach said he isn't sure how quickly Groves can return to action. He says that depends on what his pain tolerance is to what is a very painful injury.

The news is more definite on Davis. The junior tailback made his 2007 debut vs. the Gators and saw action as a kickoff returner after recovering from a preseason injury to his foot that required surgery to repair a fracture

Tuberville said that surgery on Monday to repair a fractured bone on his same foot was successful and noted that the junior could be back in action in "three to five weeks."

The Tigers have the day off on Monday and will return to practice on Tuesday morning as they prepare for Saturday's 11:30 a.m. home game vs. Vanderbilt.
